Exchange Online Protection is a service that protects your e-mail against spam, malware, and known threats. An additional advantage of Exchange Online in the context of security is the possibility of implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA). The SLA agreement guarantees failure-free operation at the level of 99.9%. System maintenance time is minimized thanks to automatically applied patches.

The rules for mobile devices allow you to: create lists of approved mobile devices in the organization, enforce a PIN lock, remove confidential company data from lost phones.

Synchronization, convenience for users

Exchange Online is available to the user on smartphones, tablets, computers and the Internet. The user receives a mailbox with a capacity of 50 GB or 100 GB and can send messages with a maximum size of 150 MB. Keeping the inbox tidy is easier thanks to the automatic moving of old messages to the batch archive. Microsoft Exchange Online Plan 2 provides unlimited cumulative archive capacity for the user.

Advanced calendar functions

Exchange Online users can manage the calendar, share free meeting times, schedule meetings, and use reminders. With shared calendars, you can easily respond to invitations. Other collaboration features are also available, such as: groups, global address list, external contacts, tasks, conference rooms, delegation functions. It is worth noting that the calendar integrates with Teams.

The implementation of Exchange Online in a large organization allows to tailor the project elements to the company’s security needs. Depending on the applied security policy or imposed requirements (eg ISO), the Customer may decide whether solutions such as: SSO, MFA, SSPR, Identity Protection will be prepared as part of the implementation of Exchange Online.

Single Sign On

Single Sign On, i.e. transparent logging to cloud resources, makes the daily work of users much easier. Existing user accounts in Active Directory Domain Services are used for login. This model of user credentials to Microsoft cloud services is known as Hybrid Identity. The credentials process will include the use of a copy of AD DS user accounts by the Azure AD tenant for the Microsoft 365 subscription.

In addition, we increase the level of security thanks to the possibility of using selected authorization mechanisms available only in the cloud for services in the internal network after the implementation of Exchange Online.

Multi Factor Authentication

The security of using Microsoft cloud services can be further strengthened by enabling MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), namely two-factor authentication in accordance with the Office 365 Tier C standard.

Self Service Password Reset

Configuration of Exchange Online for a company may include the implementation of a banned password list and conditional access (access from trusted devices, disabling legacy authorization methods, etc.).

It is possible to increase the efficiency of IT employees thanks to the SSPR (Self Service Password Reset) functionality, which allows you to unlock a domain account from the Microsoft 365 portal without the assistance of the company’s IT department.

Identity Protection

We can increase IT security in the company by enabling the Identity Protection engine, which actively detects login data leaks, logins in terms of location, devices, suspicious IP addresses, etc.

It is possible to set a change of authorization behavior based on location (e.g. using a corporate network will not require multi-factor authorization by an employee).

Identity Protection provides advanced reporting to help manage IT security in the company (e.g. notifications about users who have been identified with a risk).
